Thank you from Pentridge BBQ 2015

By John McCall – Pentridge Resident

Our famous BBQ was held on 1st August which went with a swing and without rain!

About 200 people came and were treated to lamb (much of it kindly donated), sausages and a great variety of salads. Alec James and friends provided splendid music which got most people dancing. The straw bales and blazing braziers were as popular as ever.

Our thanks go to all the organisers, the bar staff (who put in long hours after it was all supposed to end!), the tent erectors and especially to the senior local electrician!

About £1700 was raised for the church. £350 was donated to the Salisbury Hospice and £250 was donated to Pentridge Village Hall.

Interactive Talk: Our Dogs and how to understand them.

EDIT 7th Sept 2015 – This event has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Time and Date: Tuesday 15th September 7:30pm-9:00pm.

Location: Pentridge Village Hall: in the Company of Jo Scott.

Cost: £5 per person

We are delighted to invite you to an enjoyable evening in Pentridge with Jo Scott.

Jo graduated in 1999 with a Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Therapy and Training. She is also principal of the Verwood Hydrotherapy Centre. She lives locally and has kindly agreed to come and share her wealth of knowledge with us.

Amongst other things she will help us understand:

What makes our dogs tick.

What messages they are sending out, how they talk to us and how OUR behaviour affects theirs.

This promises to be a most enjoyable evening which will appeal to all dog lovers.

Despite her busy schedule of lectures, writing books and articles, along with her responsibilities at the Hydrotherapy School and a veterinary practice, Jo still finds time to spend time with her family and menagerie of pets, including a mini- spotted pony.

Who knows, she might even bring some of her menagerie with her.
