November 2017 marks the beginning of our fundraising for a Defibrillator for Pentridge and Woodyates. The equipment would be stored outside Pentridge Village Hall and will be accessible in an emergency 24 hours a day.
The Pentridge Village Hall committee (and some residents), have recently taken part in a First Aid Course to enable us to assist with accidents and incidents at community events and within our parish. Further discussion took place at the course, and between residents since and we all feel that a defibrillator would be the next step for our community.
As we are on the boundary of 3 counties, there have been situations where an ambulance has taken a very long time to be able to reach residents in an emergency.
The ability to use a defibrillator could mean the difference between life and death in the event of a heart attack.
The defibrillator would be kept in an accessible place close to Pentridge Village Hall. It will be accessible day or night and is intended for the use of residents and visitors to the Pentridge and Woodyates parish.
The Village Hall events team will be leading the fundrising campaign but welcome any help, support or suggestions, please contact us by email at info@pentridgedorset.co.uk
